Helmets to Hardhats (H2H) has been notified that the Ontario Nuclear Industry will be requiring a significant number of skilled trades starting in 2021 at Ontario Power Generation (OPG) at Darlington, Pickering generating stations and Bruce Power in Kincardine, Ontario. To apply to this specialized & high security industry, all registrants must have an approved Nuclear Industry Security Clearance Card.

All H2H registrants desiring to obtain a security clearance card must request it through Mr. Normand Trepanier, H2H Deputy Director, who will forward your request to the appropriate Security Office. Within a few days, you will receive an ID number and a password to initiate your on-line security clearance application with the appropriate Nuclear facility.

The H2H Deputy Director is the sole authority to approve your mandatory Identification documents. These Security Clearances may take between five and seven weeks to process, so please apply ASAP.

Follow these steps to obtain a Nuclear Industry Security Clearance:
  • Forward your request to H2H Deputy Director:

  • You will receive an email with your 20 digits Identification Number and Password, to start the application process.
  • You will be asked for copies of identification documentation. These must be certified by H2H prior to them being sent.
  • Steps to follow:
      i) Email to the H2H Deputy Director, two pieces of government-issued photo ID. Please note that you will be required to scan both sides of each ID card, or
      ii) Provincial Birth Certificate plus one piece of government-issued photo ID (both sides).
  • Mr. Trépanier will then contact you and arrange an online meeting (Facetime or Whatsapp or messenger) to physically verify your identity. After this meeting, he will email you the stamped certified identification documents.
  • On receipt of these documents, you will be able to complete the application by forwarding all documents to the appropriate Security Office.
