Sean Strickland
Chair, Executive Director
Canada's Building Trades Unions
I’m incredibly proud to take on the role of Chair of the Board of Directors for Helmets to Hardhats Canada. This organization represents the very best of what our industry can offer: real opportunity, meaningful careers, and a chance to give back to those who’ve already given so much to our country.
Helmets to Hardhats connects Veterans, reservists, and military family members with life-changing pathways into the skilled trades. These individuals bring unmatched work ethic, discipline, and leadership – qualities that strengthen our job sites, our unions, and the construction industry as a whole.
The opportunities ahead within the unionized skilled trades are enormous. As we face growing demands for infrastructure and a changing workforce, Helmets to Hardhats plays a vital role in building a stronger, more resilient construction sector across Canada. By helping people transition to civilian life with good-paying union jobs, we are investing in the future of our industry and ensuring we can meet the growing building needs of our nation.
I want to thank Alex Loula for his outstanding leadership as outgoing Chair. His contributions have laid a strong foundation for continued success, and I look forward to working with our partners across the country to expand the reach and impact of this tremendous program.
Thank you to James Hogarth, the executive board, and the entire team at Helmets to Hardhats for putting their faith in me to help guide them forward. Together, we can continue to build careers, strengthen communities, and grow an industry we can all be proud of.
